Bayerischer Sparkassen- und Giroverband
annual report 1989/90

“Who doesn’t get away from the cowshed of dialectic, will moulder away in the swamp of ability” -
the painter and sculptor Karl Aichinger, born in 1951 in Floss / Upper Palatinate,
is not a person who curries favour with his spectators.
The paintings of the artist, living in Weiden, are uncompromising inspirations, trimmed in no direction of the market.
Already in the meantime is a legend his video-movie of Mozart’s Requiem and his sculpture "The Fugue-Chess",
dedicated to J.S. Bach and his Art of Fugue.
Beside many exhibitions a whole series of sculptures and wells in Eastern Bavaria are signs of the versatile personality.
One of the last ordered works was the design of the booking hall in the new building of the “Vereinigte Sparkassen”
(i.e. United Savings bank) in Cham.
Works of Karl Aichinger are in public and private collections.
