KARL AICHINGER’S ART
The credo of Master Eckart is for the artist Karl Aichinger a possibility of identification.
The oil paintings of the artist have a powerful and vehement effect.
Inspirations, coming into existence by listening to music of Bach, Villa-Lobos and Barber,
are reproduced in abstract formation of glowing colour sounds.
Innumerable spaces seem to exist one after the other like mountains of clouds, which are curved in every direction.
The artist achieves confusing insights' into imaginary worlds, by means of colours and he casts his spell over the onlooker.
The twitching brushstrokes, which erect themselves like a scaffolding in front of the background, and the wide stripes of colour,
which move in all directions, are signs of the experimental way of working.
The oil paint has like the cardboard, the pictures are painted on, a potent sensual quality for Karl Aichinger.
The artist works in his studio in Weiden, where his granite sculptures are created too.
From the occupation with contemporary music arises more and more fields of interest:
illustrations on the music-theater, video-pieces and their transpositions into his art.
By this appreciation of all fields of art the personal practical experiences are an advantage for Karl Aichinger:
classic guitar and saxophone belong to his repertoire, lyric inventions and the work on the stage.
Perhaps it is necessary now to discover this artist, born in 1951.
The latest paintings of the artist were to see at the Col Legno Gallery for New Art in Munich in October.
Unfortunately the premises didn’t provide an opportunity of an optimum presentation.
The paintings need adequate space and restrained interior.
